Weeks in Naviras eBook Chris Wimpress

When I started this book, I did not think I would like it. It started mid thought almost and I felt like I was so lost and behind. But then the author shifted just slightly and it all immediately seemed to get clear and make a little more sense. I was a little worried that it would be another predictable "purgatory" book where the characters are getting that one last shot to make their mistakes right again. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. The pace never really slowed down and there were some twists that I did not expect. I will definitely read more by this author.

Weeks in Naviras eBook Chris Wimpress Reviews

I received this ebook free from LibraryThing.com in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are all mine.

This book started out bizarre and only got more and more bizarre. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
I did not find it to be a page turner like so many of the other reviewers, but I was intrigued and wanted to know what happened. There were twists and turns, and sometimes I knew what was going to happen and sometimes the author surprised me.
It was a good read, it kept me interested enough to finish but didn't keep me up late at night reading.
The concept was a good one, and the writing was strong. Sadly, with the exception of Lottie, the characters were not particularly likeable. I wanted to know what happened, but really didn't care if it was going to be positive or negative. I don't normally feel that way about a book, so I rate this one "bizarre."
I honestly don't know what to say. Is the book a political thriller, science fiction, love story, a study of life? Or is it none of these? I do know it was hard to get into at the beginning but was worth sticking it out. It got to the point where I was up at night reading because I just had to know what was going on because there were so many twists and turns. At first, I did find the sudden chapter changes confusing but once I got used to it, the book flowed. In the end, I found that I did enjoy the book and the way it was written. It had enough surprises and cliff hangers to keep my interest and all I know is that I really wish I could go visit Naviras. I still can't figure out what category best fits this novel since it seems to be a blend of quite a few but I do know that sometimes I like a novel that makes you think and is out of the ordinary. The most important thing for me is that I became lost in the book and felt as if I knew the main character. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and I am glad I was chosen.
Weeks in Naviras by Chris Wimpress

There are so many words to describe this book, and every one of them sings it praises. I normally tend to read young adult, fantasy or science fiction and this book is none of those things; but it hooked me from the first chapter. It is so hard to talk about this book without giving anything away, but because I highly recommend it I do not want to spoil it. It was instantly intriguing and had me wonder what in the world is going on. The feeling of wondering what is happening and what is going to happening kept me glued to the pages and I could not put it down. I dare anyone to pick up this book up and read the first chapter. I cannot imagine you would be able to walk away without reading one more chapter and then one more chapter and before long you will be as obsessed as me.
This novel is fiction. And in a surprising twist for me since I loved it so much, it has politics and terrorism. Marriage, romance, politics, life, death and children; this book has it. It has life. It does not shy away from the realness of life and at times that had me hating characters, even though I was not sure I would be choosing something different if I was in those characters’ shoes. I love how the story jumps back and forth in time, even though at times it is confusing it fits the story perfectly. In the end, every thing is wrapped up in a satisfying way; while also leaving some questions as to what happens to certain characters (which is one of the my favorite ways for books to end. Life is not perfect). Nothing concludes “perfectly” in life, so why should a book.
The writing style is so engaging and descriptive that I was transported to Naviras. I was on the beach. I was in the plane. I was with the characters. The author is so on point with his writing style. This book has every thing (and more in some cases) so many best sellers have that I hope more people read this book and it gets more recognition. Clearly I am obsessed with this book. I recommend it to all adults. I know that I will be telling all my friends and family about it and badgering them to read it. I know I will end up rereading it because it is that good. I can only hope Chris writes and publishes more novels soon!
A great read. Very much enjoyed it been better than his first book! Read it in one sitting.
Would recommend to anyone.
This story is riveting and the further I got into it, the harder it was to put down. Unfortunately, the text seems to have suffered from a lack of proof-reading, and I found the frequent errors very distracting. If the text was tidied up this book would deserve more than the three stars I have given it, as it really is a very good story.
This is a unique and very engrossing concept. There's a lot of wish-fulfillment. I can easily imagine the little hotel and the surrounding village. It's fun and I recommend the book because it's absolutely NOT what you expect it to be!
A sweet sweet story.

This book was very very enjoyable. Wimpress has a way of making his characters seem vibrant and realistic. His descriptive paragraphs are simply amazing, and the story is stunning.

That being said much as is usual with many books there are often formatting, errors within the text. A font and style that translate well into a print text do not always translate well to .mobi formatting.

That however was the only thing wrong with this book, other than that it was amazing.
