This is the fourth and final book in The Shepherd's Heart series. I've read Rocky Mountain Oasis, High Desert Haven and Fair Valley Refuge and enjoyed all three.

We finally get around to the story of Cade and Sharyn. There are hints of Sharyns's affection for Cade in the other books, but we don't really get to see any significant interaction until book 3, Fair Valley Refuge, where Cade tells Sharyn that he sees her as a sister and can't see anything more for their future.

At the beginning of this book, Cade has come back and finally realized his mistake only to learn that Sharyn has moved away. She couldn't stand the sympathetic looks of the townspeople any more and just had to move on. There's a man in town that seems to have his eye on Sharyn and she is determined to forget Cade. Problem is, her heart doesn't quite agree with that plan.

Cade is in town to check into horse rustling. He infiltrates the gang and ends up part of a plan to kidnap the schoolteacher. Unaware that Sharyn's original job had disappeared and she is the local schoolteacher, Cade ends up with quite a shock when he goes to kidnap the woman he loves. Not only is he going to have to keep her safe from people that would like her dead, he also wants to convince her that he was wrong to have broken her heart. Both tasks will be hard.

I think that this book was my favorite of the series. I believe that if you read any of them out of order or alone, you wouldn't be disappointed, but I do recommend that you read Fair Valley Refuge if you want to get a more complete story of Cade and Sharyn. At the end of the book, the author reveals that this is the end of the story of the Jordan family but that she may have the characters make a cameo appearance in another series. I recommend this whole series. They are uplifting, fairly quick reads that I thoroughly enjoyed.

All the books by Lynnette, have been of my choice and I will be looking forward to reading more of her stories, which are full of suspense as well as nice entertaining story, from beginning to its end. I like the Christian values, and has helped me to maintain God as part of my life. I like the way she presents her main characters . Good descriptions and shows good respect in their relationships. It is interesting the way she keeps the previous characters into the story and interest the readers in the past book that is just finished, the reason for marinating a good follow up on them, I do recommend her books.
What a beautiful book series! Absolutely one of my all time favorites! The action in this book was fantastic.....especially with the stage at toward the end! (No spoilers...I promise). I love every character in this series....I do think Smith needs a second chance at love. Maybe a future series?? Thanks again...this is a series I will definitely will reread.
I have enjoyed every word of all of the books in the series. The characters are rich and fully developed. Their world is colorful and alive. Ii laughed with them and cried with them. Each story is full of interesting characters and I wanted to be part of their lives. I also hope to see future books about other characters from this series.

Will Smith marry Brandon' mother?
What happens to Nicki's sister?
Will the talkative daughter of the mercantile find someone who doesn't mind her chattering?
Will Tilly marry Nicki's ranch hand?

Most importantly, how will they grow in love and service to God?

Lynette Bonner finishes this sweet series with the story of the Sky and Rockey's sister Sharyah. She is a school teacher in a small town. Basically she is running away from her childhood friend Cade Bennett who views her as a little sister. He barely realizes that she has grown into a beautiful young lady. She has loved Cade a long time; but has no hope of his ever seeing her any other way. She dates Sam Perry, a local banker and member of the school board. But trouble in brewing within the local gang of outlaws who will stop at nothing to get their way. Cade has taken a job in this same town; totally unaware of the fact that Sharyah is the local school teacher. This local gang kidnaps Sharyah and it is up to Cade to rescue/free her. This story is filled with action and suspense. You will be on the edge of your seat throughout the book.
It's been a while since I read this book, and I can't immediately recall everything that happened, but this is what happened. I read Book 1, and I couldn't stop. I think I stayed up to read Book 2, then proceeded to round out the series within a few days. Ms. Bonner, you're an inspired writer, and each of your characters stand on their own. I especially loved that both males and females were not made out to be saints and dealt with their desires, physical and otherwise, their frustrations, their fears, their burdens, and their responsibilities biblically and totally organically. I could see myself in each of your characters. God bless you and looking forward to more awesomeness from you. I will post this on all four books but believe me, I loved your books. Danke!
This was a very fast paced story and very enjoyable even with the SORROW for Sam because of his sister Katrina. Finally Sharyah gets the love of her life, Cade comes to realise he loves her. Things turn out very happily for Sam and Missy. I hope you do write more about these characters Miss Bonner because I am interested to see where it would lead with Smith Bennett and Reagan McBride. Now that Smith is the new sheriff in town where the widow McBride lives things could get interesting for them. With Cade buying Sam Perry's ranch he and Sharyah are in the same town. I sure would like to hear more about these people from all four books. I will recommend your books to all my Christian reader friends.
